After Gene's novel became quite popular, he was asked by the Devon School's radio station- WPEA- for an interview on his novel. This interview is set in 1965 so Gene is 39 and the interviewer is a current student at Devon- 16.

When reading this, I want you to forget the first half of chapter 1 in A Separate Peace. It didn't happen. Gene didn't come back to Devon fifteen years later. Chapter 14 is my personal chapter because I will not settle on Finny's demise. He never died. In fact, in my Chapter 13, Finny was alive when Gene got drafted for the war immediately. All the senior boys did (except Finny and Leper of course) and leaving Finny made Gene tear up a little, but Finny assured Gene he'd be all right. After all, Finny wasn't the one to worry about. I might create a Chapter 15, 16, and so on if the book gets good. So please enjoy. (There won't be smut but maybe a little fluff between Finny and Gene as the gayness can't be hidden anymore.)

John Knowles' beautiful coming-of-age tale, "A Separate Peace," is written in the main character, Gene Forester's point of view. Throughout the novel readers find themselves falling in love with the charismatic best friend, Phineas. As any adolescent will, Gene encounters obstacles that leave him and his opinions somewhat muddled. His thoughts and state of mind affect how readers view certain scenes in the novel. In his hysteria, Gene makes wild assumptions that misguide readers. We are lacking a second opinion. There are many minor controversial scenes in this book that leave the reader wondering what Phineas is thinking. I took it upon myself to select 2 scenes in which Phineas' true intentions are not clear. In addition to that, I wrote an extra scene, that cannot be found in the book. This scene brings some sort of justice to Finny's untimely death- In the final scene I attempt to depict Finny's last moments.

This is a cross-over of the novel, Fahrenheit 451, and the novel, A Separate Peace. It is a meeting between Finny and Beatty in the Afterlife. I am writing this as my midterm for english.
