In 1967, two friends Annie and Andy run away from their suburb in Arizona to Haight-Ashbury in California to join the hippie scene. They meet incredible people who share their interests and similar feelings, while under the influence of music, art, and psychedelic drugs. However, after the Summer of Love, reality starts to kick in and everyone at the apartment begins to realize what is going in the US. These group of friends experience life from a certain perspective, and come to terms with their demons.

January 1, 1995. Colin Ashbury screamed at the top of his lungs on the roof of his home, "LIFE IS AMAZING DON'T EVER REGRET IT." The day after, his body was found floating on the water underneath the London Bridge by 3 year old American tourist Summer Reed. Ten years later, in 2005, a box with no return label is delivered to Summer Reed in Los Angeles, California. She opens the box only to find items and a written set of riddles leading to a boy named Colin Ashbury whom she has no clue of. An aspiring journalist and detective prodigy, she sets out for the truth behind a hidden memory.
