There's at least one mention of the book Peeta and Katniss were making in memory of the people who died, or the fact that Haymitch has geese, and other things like that. There will be some of my own made up characters but I couldn't do that without Suzanne having written the book, so... And the cover art (which I personally think is pretty dang awesome) was made by janeviiianueva on Tumblr. All credit goes to her. All I did was put my name on it. lol And honestly, the name for this fic came from that cover art, so shout out to her!! (Don't worry, I got her permission. XD)

A collection of short stories based off of my story Ashes, some might be related to each other, others not, just think of each chapter as a separate story.

14 year old Caroline Walker lives in a small village by the sea in Wales, 1832. She believes that her world is too small, and would like to travel the world. Caroline lives with her elder sister Eva and parents. But when their parents go away for a two month long trip, strange things start to happen around the village. Mysterious disappearances lead to something much bigger. The villagers spread different rumors about what is happening to their neighbors. Caroline gathers enough information about it and gets to action. There is a strange monster killing off the villagers one by one. First it drinks your blood, then it burns you to a crisp, and finally it throws your body into the lake. But this monster isn't doing this for fun, it's doing this for revenge. The village has a dark past with the monster, and now it's time to burn it down.

In spite of the harsh conditions, some remnants of the human race continue their existence on the surface, determined to forge a new society from the ashes that buried the old. These are the fragmented tales of a few such people.
