Michael Clifford never meant to fall for his bandmate's sister. Seriously. Out of everyone in the world, he could've developed a crush on, it just had to be Violet Hemmings. Luke's little sister, the literal definition of "off limits," and the girl who could ruin him with one raised eyebrow.
Call it fate or call it karma, or whatever. Apparently,y it had a sense of humor, because the first time Michael looked at her too long, it was already over.
Violet Hemmings wasn't like Luke. Not even close.
Luke was sunshine in human form. Loud, neon, always humming something under his breath,th and tripping over his own feet. Violet was... the opposite. A storm cloud he wanted to stand under anyway. Quiet, but not shy. Sharp, but only when she felt like it. Pretty in that "I didn't try, stop staring at me" way. They were Irish twins, born less than a year apart, and for one entire day, they were the same age. Something Luke loved to tease her about and something she loved to pretend didn't bother her.
Alexandra, one of Violet's best friends, practically lived at their house. She'd been dating Luke for months, but that never messed with the girls' friendship. If anything, it made the three of them even weirder. Luke being chaotic, Alex pretending she wasn't enabling him, and Violet watching them like she was the only sane person in the room.
Michael tried. He tried so hard not to look at her. Not to notice her. Not to wonder how someone could be so quiet and still take up so much space in his head. But every time she sat on the couch while they practiced, legs pulled up to her chest, hair falling in her eyes. Yeah. Good luck ignoring that, Clifford.
He was doomed from the start.
And Violet had no idea.
