It's 1990, and Penelope Annabelle Min-Yi Harte, known to her friends and family as Nell, is not at all thrilled to be starting over. It's the summer before her senior year-at a new camp. That's right: nearly all of her life, Nell's dad has run a summer camp in Oregon. Everything changes, however, when he's forced, for mysterious reasons, to find a new job at a camp in California. For the first time ever, Nell has to leave the only home she's ever known. The worst is she has to leave her friends, too, including her best friend (and maybe more than that?), Len Rodriguez. But the summer crew Nell meets at Camp Morgan offers some interesting possibilities, especially in the form of a boy named Cash Tilney. Maybe this move won't be the wrong one after all...

This is the memoir of an Asian-Canadian boy, one of the hundreds of high-achieving Asian students who are deemed to be excellent test-takers, but lacking in personality, creativity and imagination. He is always seen smiling, but is suffocating under his parents' expectations and feeling trapped by his culture's values. A detailed account of his life, this memoir shows the dark side of being raised by strict tiger parents, bringing depth and insight into the Asian stereotypes that have long persisted.

Anaya Shankar has been in love with Krish Nair since the 8th grade-not that he ever noticed. By the time high school ended, love had curdled into resentment. She moved on. Or so she thought. But fate has other plans. Now, they're at the same university, orbiting the same friend group, forced into each other's space. She tells herself it doesn't matter. That she's not that girl anymore. But then Krish smirks and asks, "Still hate me, Shankar?" She tilts her head, lets her lips curl. "Of course." But hatred and love have never been opposites. Updates every other Sunday. Next chapter: October 19th. This is a space for those who live in the gap. We support the voices of Asian Americans, and we want their stories to be truly heard. We understand how hard you've fought to be seen, to belong, to be more than a punchline. We're not here to judge you. We're not here to divide. We've been cheering you on from across the ocean-those of us still living on this side. But we also ask, with hope: When you say "I'm Asian," do you remember the ones who never left? The stories that were never translated, the voices that were never heard. The ones you still look like-but no longer feel connected to. We're not trying to speak over you. We're simply speaking-from this side of the ocean.

Eleven-year-old June Kao finds her daily life scary and confusing. Her parents made it clear that the Chinese ideal of obeying her elders was the only way for her to grow up safely. Her mother's prejudice against a new family in the neighborhood, however, directly contradicts the multiculturalism embraced by June's classes at school and the choir she sings in outside her home. The humor and personal experiences shared through these last two environments help June realize the errors in her parents' thinking. But it may not be enough to keep her safe. When June's mother falls ill and refuses to see a doctor as a result of her prejudice, she puts her own life in jeopardy. June must make sense of everything she's learned outside her home and find a way to overturn her mom's mindset, before it's too late.

Some prose personal to me. This was a final project for one of my undergrad English classes, and someone told me I should share it online, so here it is. I was particularly inspired by Ocean Vuong's On Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous. A while ago I wrote a bunch of letters to my exes with no intention of ever sending them. Yet...one day in my mailbox I uncovered one answer after the other.

In a future ruled by a moral ranking system, your virtue determines your worth-and where you're allowed to live. Jun Park, a Tier 3 orphan raised to obey, becomes a target after questioning the system's logic. Pursued by enforcers and betrayed by the algorithm meant to protect him, Jun uncovers a truth too human for machines to process. Zhao, a high-ranking operative in the gleaming perfection of Tier 1, is sent to eliminate the threat. But Jun's defiance plants a seed of doubt-and in the sterile corridors of power, doubt is treason. As rebellion simmers at the edges and culture collides with control, a question rises: Can morality be measured? And if not, what happens to a world built on its calculation?
