This is the description of a short story. The war and the battlefield has been used as symbolism to show the inner feelings of the protagonist as he tries to find himself a girlfriend. He goes out to a bar with his friends to find a woman. He finds the perfect woman but is too nervous to talk to her himself. His wingman gives up on his own date and takes the protagonist's message to the woman with some wine. The woman is unimpressed. However instead of giving up the protagonist finds the courage to walk over to her and ask her out. She agrees. They go home but the protagonist finds that he got a bit more than he bargained for.
