Aiden Parker, who has his own load of shit in his past to deal with too, but he copes a different way- the more violent way by getting in trouble almost every single day. They despise each other. After 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 day, Olivia and Aiden both already try to avoid each other as much as possible in school. But how much can that help when Aiden is forced to give her basketball lessons they need to do for their grade and she cannot refuse because she completely sucks in sports? Doug Hewitt, 16 years old, has a deep and meaningful secret that he won't share with anyone due to his lack of trust in society. But when he gets assigned an English assignment where he must write about it, and if he doesn't, then it's summer school. So he knows he has no choice but to write about it. Those who know him become aware that something isn't right about him during an intervention. And he wouldn't share with them what it is. Mrs. Fuller sets up an appointment with world-famous psychologist Dr. Wright to work with him in hopes that he would come to convince him to share his secret.

Two college students. One assignment. And a lesson neither of them signed up for. What starts as tension slowly becomes understanding.

Some people come into your life like a passing season; they arrive, they change something in you, and then they leave. But what happens when someone... stays? In our lives, we actually show 10 percent of who we are to the people around us. Many of us choose to act composed and established despite the scars we have had. Lindsay Magallanes has always been the kind of person who gives her time, her effort, her heart. A teacher who smiles through exhaustion, who is not afraid to do things alone, and who is scared. Until one day, someone unexpected walks into her life. Ilias Stephenson is quiet, unreadable, and far too composed for someone his age. He doesn't talk much, doesn't stay long, and definitely doesn't get involved. But for some reason, he stays. But Ilias has a secret. He was never meant to stay. And Lindsay might be the one person who makes him forget why he has to leave. And Ilias might be the one who reminds her why she has to stay. In a story filled with humor, chaos, slow-burning tension, and unexpected warmth "What happens when the person who saves you is the one you're destined to lose?"
