This story is what I think happened after the epilogue of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. J.K. Rowling owns all characters and plot. I only own the character's actions.

If there's anything worse than death, it's losing one's self. 19 years after the Second Wizarding War, we only managed to hear snippets of Draco Malfoy and his wife, Astoria (nee Greengrass). Eventually, then, the untimely death of the witch. We only knew of a Greengrass family curse that managed to kill her -- but such an ancestral curse goes as far as its involvement with the Malfoys. Let us take you back several years, when the world was so cruel and dark that a single ray of light would die in an instant. The Dark Lord has returned, and only so much can happen in the span of dark times. If I Lose Myself follows the lives of Astoria Greengrass and Draco Malfoy during the return of the Dark Lord, how they came to be and how they conquered their own demons. This is losing themselves, but finding each other in the heart of a war.

Many were born with pure blood, but not all were born with precious, pure and powerful blood. Of course, the Dark Lord wasn't any less thoughtful to not have another plan when Harry Potter was so close to destroying him. Given to his hands, Astoria Greengrass is immured with two choices that can both destroy her: obey him and come as perfidious to her trusted ones in order to stay alive or- lose herself while trying to liberate everyone from his wickedness. Incarcerated in darkness, she had no one to reach out for, she was compelled to be his servant- to be brought down to the deepest abyss of endless despondency. Her rival, Draco Malfoy, seems to be more allured to her against his better judgment. Dumbledore's Army was created for every house except for Slytherin, little did the other houses know but the DA inspired Slytherins, well all of the good Slytherins, to create a Dumbledore's Army for themselves.
