"Why Do You Fear the Stars?" follows Killian through his last seven days living in New Babylon as he makes a choice to either stay and inevitably die or risk a mission trying to find out if he truly is the last living member of humanity.

The struggling became close to none as the escape pod shot off. Why was he worried? Only big boys worried, he was in no place to worry he sucked on the liquid greedily. The last thing he saw as his eyes closed was the Milky Way galaxy. Not even noticing as the pod was swallowed up by a large ship.

The story is set in an alternate timeline where the Soviet Union successfully lands on the moon before the United States. The date is 1969, and the Cold War tensions are even higher due to this technological and ideological victory.
