"But what if you meet someone else, and replace me?" "You're irreplaceable Ellie," He smiled a sorrow-full smile. I raised my pinkie in front of my face, my bangs covering my sorrow-filled eyes. "Promise?" As he wrapped my pinkie with his, I tugged his body towards mine, embracing him as his pizza scented aroma rushed through my nose for the last time. "I promise." ---------------------------------------------------------------- Ever since Luke Hemmings walked into Ella Hartley's kindergarten class, with chocolate around his mouth, they became what Mrs. Karmin, their teacher, called 'the Troublesome Two'. They've pulled pranks on every unfortunate teacher, who've had the priviledge of their acquaintances. Yet, the principal hasn't thought to separate them. After six years on the job, they learned that middle school was coming up. Ella's single mother wanted her to go to the school two blocks from their small house, as it was easiest on her budget, while Luke's parents wanted him to go to the prestigious school they previously went to. After the painful goodbye, Ella felt embarrased, having to go to such a pitiful school, whilst her best friend got to learn at the prominent school right across the street. 24/7 phone calls turned into barely hello's, long embraces turned into longing stares, at least for Ella. As for Luke, life couldn't get better. Finding his dad's old guitar in the basement, he found lessons online, playing whenever he got the chance; slowly forgetting about his dear Ellie-Bellie. ---------------------------------------------------------------- "No, you didn't replace me," I said trying to keep my voice from breaking, "you just forgot about me."
