All his subjects feared him, no one dared to go against his ideals or to oppose his mandate, because they knew what to expect. As a poor city, Sahamed, the man in charge of looking after it, sold slaves in droves every week in an attempt to keep the city's economy going. Every day there were attempts to escape slaves, mostly children, but the chances of succeeding were slim, as Pharaoh chased the fugitives and mostly executed them.
