Armed with fragments of memories from his past life and the ability to Fire Bend, I have to somehow survive in the Earth Kingdom as a Fire Nation descendant at the peak of the Hundred Year War until the Avatar comes back in 17 years as of writing this... Oh, man.

The Avatar has returned 100 years after he vanished, and although rumors claim he's nothing more than a 12-year-old boy who only knows airbending, the Fire Nation has prioritized hunting him down. In some parallel world, Prince Zuko would be part of that hunt, but in this one, he died at the tender age of 12 when, still recovering from the Agni Kai against his father, he was attacked and killed in his royal chamber. A month later, Lee arrived at Pohuai Fortress, and three years later, the blue spirit helped the Avatar escape from the same fortress. (Story can be found in AO3 in English (same title) and Spanish (Lee, protector de la tribu agua) versions)

Over 100 years ago, Azulon's younger sister, Princess Azami, disappeared while on a trip to visit the Earth Kingdom city of Ba Sing Se. Her entire ship vanished without a trace, and the fate of the young Princess was never determined. Until now. Present day; the Fire Nation is winning the war against the Earth Kingdom and the Water Tribes. The Avatar has finally returned, after a century in hiding, and with him comes someone the world had long believed dead. How will the the Princess react to a world at war, when she never even knew it happened? --- Book 1; Finished. Book 2; In progress. Note; My first fanfic so tbh expect at least some, if not a lot of cringe writing. I wholeheartedly welcome any criticism to help improve the writing or the narrative, just try and avoid outright bashing of the story if you can. This will largely follow the plot of ATLA, with probably only a little deviation in the main story. Don't expect a word-for-word repeat though, as I'll often want to add a twist to work within the narrative I'm trying to tell. Also worth noting that I am going to mess with the canon a LITTLE, just to help fit the context of the story. As with any and all ATLA fics, I solely own Azami and her character, everything else belongs to the original creators of ATLA. Oh and btw this is probably obvious to many people but the artwork does NOT belong to me, nor am I claiming it as such. The story begins with a boy born in the Fire Nation. The boy named Yan Long was raised in a noble family, but his parents were killed in action by an ambushed from the Earthbending army. He was raised closely with the royals of the Fire Nation as Yan's parents were close friends of both Fire Lord Ozai and General Iroh. We will see how he deals with the changing world, the return of the Avatar, and much more. I do not own the series Avatar the Last Airbender nor do I own the images, videos, characters, and much more (with the exception of original characters).
