Eric V Stancer grew up in a rich family in New York, without a care in the world. Brought up to be a trophy father's trophy son, the boy never really had contact with what we call 'the real world'. The posh and glamorous universe he grew up in was everything he had ever known, and when his parents decide to send him to Spokane to live on his own during university, he is more than excited about it. However, on the prom night, he meets the most beautiful girl he had ever seen - Dakota. She is mysterious, popular, craved, envied and talked about, yet she accepts Eric in her group of friends almost immediately. Deciding that the prom was getting too boring, Dakota decided to go to Eric's apartment outside the university campus, together with her friends, and eventually they decide to play Truth or Dare, in which Eric is dared to kiss Dakota. It was only a kiss, right? Well, he soon found out that he was caught in a confusing and frustrating love triangle, Dakota's older and possessive boyfriend doing pretty much anything to make Eric run as far away from Dakota as possible. However, Eric is far too intrigued by the mysterious girl to give up so easily, starting to gather information about her - and as much as he gets to know Dakota, he forgets about who he really is, starting to feel exactly like her puppet. This is a story about friendship, love, beautiful walking disasters and finding out who you really are during the tumultuous university years.
