Watching Bakugou die in the war leaves Deku traumatized. He continues to have nightmares about it for weeks even after Bakugou makes a full recovery, causing him to become far more clingy than he ever has been. Although they have become closer after their reconciliation, Bakugou is still apprehensive about Deku getting close to him. He isn't accustomed to affection and doesn't know how to receive it. Deku is breaking his barriers and the thought of it leaves him powerless. Or Deku pushes Bakugou's boundaries, getting too close. Reluctantly Bakugou tries to take this as an opportunity to make amends for the way he treated Deku growing up but it's hard to kick old habits. Life is harsh, especially if you are a 17 year old girl who keeps fighting a losing battle, struggling to reconcile with one's internal chaos. Wren Ellison's self esteem is low - 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒚 𝒍𝒐𝒘. Dear Diary, Confusion I believe that is where my story starts. Everything is in a mess, especially my head. I have to organize my head again. Cause with the contribution of Sky's, I will probably die. Wow, that rhymed. I suppose I still have a knack for poetry even after all that is happening. Seriously I cannot describe what is happening.
