Struck by curiosity and a need to know the story behind these letters, Ember pens a reply to William's last known address-only to receive a letter back from Karsyn, William's grandson, who is just as intrigued by this long-lost connection. Through their letters, Ember and Karsyn uncover a love story shrouded in mystery, one that binds their families together in unexpected ways. The coffin lay awkwardly on the dusty wooden walls of the attic. It was about midnight and a lone ray of the moon's light penetrated the decrepit circular window. The coffin had been placed so that it faced the window, probably so that during the day the light shone right onto it, this was suppose to keep in whatever slumbered inside it. The coffin was made out of oak wood, and rusty nails had been hammered on the edges to hold the lid in place. Although dust had capped the coffin over the years, you could notice a small metal emblem stuck in the upper part of the coffin. And as you approached it you could slowly make out the dark winged creature sculpted by the metal... *** A little taster for you all!
