An evil sorcerer, Gavin Vandeville, the scourge of the land, finds he is defeated unconventionally and very humiliatingly. No big final clash against the hero, the Princess Knight Angelina, pitting strength and skill against pure magic. Just.. a send-off to the tune of a kazoo and an unexpected fall down some stairs. Later he wakes up in a strange room, his memories gone, all but for his name, and the name of his kitten familiar, the faithful Atticus Vinch the III, with him in his last moments as the most powerful sorcerer in the three kingdoms, and now with him again as he recovers from the blow to his head that lost him all his memories. Now a prisoner, Gavin must navigate this confusing and frightening time of not really knowing who he is, just vague impressions and foggy shapes in his memories. Where does he go from here? How does he function with no identity? Just stories of who he used to be that are meaningless, the life of a stranger. Extra note: This is a rough draft so there's missing parts as I jumped forward in time and got stuck on scenes I'm not sure if I'm going to expand on. I definitely have a problem being unable to "Show don't tell." But critique would be welcome. I wrote several days straight until I came to a stand still and am working on a second draft even as I post this, but if I get any attention and people share thoughts it'll help.

"You may not understand now Kamila, but you will soon. You are smart, the smartest and most favored of my daughters. I need you to learn and study as much as you can for the good of our country. I invited them hoping we could unite our nations..." he trailed off and played with his gold ring. "And you hope to unite our nations through marriage?" I understood it all now. The question is who was he going to offer to Prince Atticus? Heat began to rise within me. "Precisely," he smiled slightly. There was no one in the room but us. It was empty where no one but a few servants could hear us. "I intend to marry Jamila off to Prince Atticus." That's when my heart sank. -------- Kamila... a name that suited the princess of Ancient Beliba for she was perfection. She was born with beauty from the gods, but when she meets a godly prince she must learn from their encounter that beauty is not only what a princess needs. A princess needs to be clever, and a fourteen year old such as herself was not so. Well... she was until she met him... Her ancient kingdom is becoming a place filled with snakes trying to snake their way to the crown. Will Kamila fill the prophecy of the gods to unite two powerful nations? Or will she fail?

Cherry's Aunt Sara and Uncle Jim invite her and her friends to come with them to the lake, but before they can go, there is an adventure awaiting them as they are to explore a mansion which is rumored to be haunted to be crawling with ghosts, zombies, and curses.
