You are a new person in the town of Maycomb just there to live with your close friend but someone caught your eye that you weren't expecting.

The year is 1949, and Jean Louise "Scout" Finch Harris is now 21, living and working in New York as a an author and part-time poet alongside her husband and childhood-friend, Charles Baker "Dill" Harris, 23, recently-graduated law school student and highly-praised defense attorney. The two haven't been back to Maycomb since their wedding, just weeks after Scout's 18th birthday, and have decided to return for a visit, and when an old, long-forgotten friend turns up at their doorstep, they find themselves right back at where they started, 15 years into the future.

*TRIGGER WARNINGS! MENTIONS OF RAPE AND ASSAULT* Mrs. Finch is on a business trip, her husband taking care of their two children, Jean Louise and Jeremy. Then, when she arrives to Maycomb, she has a whole new trial waiting for Atticus. (Set after the trial of Tom Robinson, Bob Ewell was sentenced to life in prison and Tom was fine with his family)

Atticus Finch took his coffee black. And on the very rare occasion, he took his whiskey neat. And with a lovely woman to have in his bed at 3, what more could he need? (this is just me drabbling and listening to Hozier)

Y/N is an author and she also has a secret: she's a powerful lawyer that protects people, especially the black ones. She may look innocent but it doesn't mean that she's weak. She befriends Atticus and helps him with everything when he needs it while protecting people when they're in trouble. Atticus falls in love with her and she in him. But trouble arrives and it needs to be stopped. Will Atticus and Y/N be together or will they both drift away from each other?

Matilda "Tilly" Atkinson was the complete opposite of her older sister. She lived and breathed show business, and never pictured herself living anywhere but the bustling city. However, one day, her manager is exposed for a terrible secret, and she gets a letter from her sister, asking her to come spend the summer in Maycomb with her. She leaps at the opportunity. She loves her sister to pieces. And besides, she needs the break. Maybe she'll find a club to sing at, and start fresh, right? But what she never expected was to find love while she was there.
