Lemony Snicket. The name kept repeating over and over in Moxie Mallahan's head. She could never get it out since the day they met and long after. Her acquaintance Ellington despised the very fact he was breathing. Because of this, Moxie was never allowed to find him, forgive him, be with him. All of it hits the fan when a knock appears at the door of The Stain'd Lighthouse... (From Moxie Mallahan's POV.) (Includes swearing.)

"Shh, don't cry, Sabine," Quigley whispered in her ear. "It's okay, don't cry." His hand slid down her arm, then gently landed in her palm. He slowly spread his fingers out, then carefully entwined them with hers, as if he were savoring every sweet touch. He nuzzled his nose behind her ear and inhaled deeply, then let it out. His warm breath on her skin made her shiver and she felt her cheeks heat up. His free hand found her waist and rested there, making her shiver again. "I've got you, my dear," he said softly, nuzzling behind her ear once more. "You're safe. Dear volunteers, The newest upgrade and renovations of one of V.F.D.'s most precious places is now cordially inviting each and every one of you volunteers, to meet and mingle with other fire-fighting V.F.D. members!
