On the brink of adulthood, Marie Anne Jacey DeLatour uproots her entire life and moves halfway around the world. She doesn't have any qualifications under her belt, she doesn't have a perfect grasp on the english language, and she doesn't know anyone other than the grandparents she is staying with. And she doesn't even know them very well.
Born and raised in France, Jacey has certain things, certain expectations, that she believes should still be upheld. But Australia is different than France. They people are different, the coffee is different, everything is different. And yet she doesn't feel any more free from her parents grasp than she did when she lived under their roof.
Jacey struggles to let go of her beliefs, her expectations, and to loosen the chain she holds around her own throat, and live her own life. However, with the help of a couple new friends, she learns to reinvent herself. This time, as the kind of girl she wants to be, not the girl her parents moulded her into.
Put true self discovery into the mix of new hot guys, interesting friends, family feuds, and you get one hot story definitely worth telling.
