The Legend Reborn is a story I wrote in late 2014 about the Avatar after Korra. After the release of the Legend of Korra follow up comics I went back and added references to the events of the comics but didn't change my story. Following the 2021 announcement of Avatar Studios I decided to share my ideas since it's very possible Bryke could decide to continue the Avatar Cycle and render my story implausible. I hope they instead decide to go backwards (possibly a Kyoshi series) since there are also many other great fan projects that would be rendered implausible by a Korra sequel (notably The Legend of Genji, a project very different from my own but has my respect and admiration). But who am I to disagree with what Mike and Bryan do with their own fantastic universe. 30 years after the creation of the Earth Republic the peace Avatar Korra and Prince Wu built came crashing down. After the mysterious death of Avatar Korra a movement begins to centralize the Earth Republic under one man Yuchen. He pulled the little wealth from the Southern states and concentrated it into Ba Sing Se. The next 14 years tensions grew, but when those tensions explode the new Avatar Guang, a 14 year old boy living in a small sand bender village, changes his life forever.
