The twins move in with their uncle, Gordon Bombay, due to the passing of their parents (aka Gordon's brother and his wife). This however was just in time for hockey season, in which the two will be put onto the new USA team along with the original ducks and five others from across the country. Luca Averman is the daughter of the famous Lester Averman who used to play for the Ducks. Many people thought that Luca would be a star hockey player. She was, until an incident on the Ducks caused her to be injured. With the fear of hurting herself permanently, she refuses to even look at a piece of ice. That was until, her friend Evan was kicked off the Ducks.
