Lana Mendez is just starting her high school career at Marx School for the Preforming Arts of Dance and Voice. However, her start of the year was undoubtedly not as glamorous as she expected. She the run, literally at the bottom of the high school food chain. She'd be expected to be at the top, but that place is already taken by none other than Millie - and she deserves it. She's amazing. And people never wonder what it's like to be the muskrat, the little guy. Seemingly talentless. Reduced to just a tech girl, Lana knows. And it looks like there's no breakout point, like there's no way out. She's stuck without a ladder to the top and no hope. That is until one faithful day in the indie music shop and a chance meeting the enemy opens her eyes. She's tired of being Lana Mendez the tech girl. She's ready to be Lana the Star. The only question is whether she'll be able to outshine the star.
