He was one of those passengers bound for home stuck alone anxious and afraid when all air traffic on the east coast is grounded. A typical human being, strutting around with sameness along with the rest of its kind in the world. No, she liked to be different. Physically and mentally. That's what she told him, when they met. That day she almost drowned in the freezing pond, her hair the brightest thing in the smoky waters. "Your hair? It's burgundy...different from others, for sure," he had told her, once he pulled her out. "Yeah," She had responded. "I like being different." "How so?" He had chuckled, as she smiled back at him.
