„Avril..." vydechl znovu, tentokrát tišší. Už nekřičel. To bylo snad horší. Polkla jsem. Slzy mi stékaly po tvářích a já je ani neotírala. Bylo mi jedno, že je vidí. „O co jde?" zopakoval. Zavřela jsem na chvíli oči. A pak jsem to řekla. „Já tě potřebuju." Ztuhl. „Ne takhle," dodala jsem rychle, hlas roztřesený. „Ne... ne jako Rosalie. Ne jako holka, co po tobě něco chce." Zhluboka jsem se nadechla. „Potřebuju tě vídat. Potřebuju vidět, jak se usmíváš. I ten tvůj blbej ironickej úšklebek." Hlas se mi zlomil. „Potřebuju slyšet, jak mě odsekáváš. Jak se mračíš. Jak se tváříš, že je ti všechno jedno." Dashova ruka na mé bradě lehce povolila. „Když mě ignoruješ..." pokračovala jsem tiše, „je to, jako bys nebyl. A já... já nevím, co s tím mám dělat." Mezi námi bylo ticho. Jen vítr přehazoval zbytky listí po chodníku. „Takže nejde o Rosalie," řekl pomalu. Zavrtěla jsem hlavou. „Jde o tebe," ( Musíte se překousat začátkem, pak je to lepší, a taky se omlouvám za gramatiku:))
