Life as Alexane Connery had grown to know and admire on Earth had been torn into shreds as Alexane's new reality comes into view. For many this was the case. A boy and a girl meet in a strange land that they both think that is just in their heads, but after a few days of strange real life things happen they realize that it was never in their heads. She is searching for her family even though it was never brought up in the book.
