Year 2109. A time of war and mass destruction. The United States is being threatened by an unknown force, causing numerous institutions to be built, where children would be trained to fight as assassins. Everything was kept orderly. No one got in or out of any institution. But that would change when a group of close friends try to put together a plan to escape and seek out peace from all the violence. "If it's one thing I know about you, it's that you suck at keeping secrets," Luke would say, and I would scoff and splash my feet ruthlessly in the lake. "But here we are, in a clandestine area underage drinking. Why am I with the crowned queen of the Lonely Hearts Club? Aren't you sworn maidens or something?" "Last time I checked, it's okay to make mistakes. And apparently, both of us have made tons, so why not make these nights worthwhile?" I revolve my glass around the air, then take another swig, because in all honesty, Luke and I are just both cowards unable to face the harsh reality.
