In the heart of the Peruvian rainforest lies a sanctuary of ancient wisdom and healing: a seven-day Ayahuasca retreat. Amidst the verdant foliage and mystical chants, two souls find themselves drawn together by the unseen hand of fate. Maya, a weary traveler seeking purpose amidst the chaos of modern life, and Diego, a restless spirit haunted by his past, embark on a transformative journey of self-discovery and love. Through the potent brew of Ayahuasca, they navigate the depths of their subconscious, finding solace and connection amidst the swirling mists of the jungle. As the retreat draws to a close, Maya and Diego realize that their bond is forged in the sacred fires of Ayahuasca, guiding them towards a future filled with love, healing, and endless possibility.

The search for the divine is older than we can imagine. It has been the focus of religious institutions for thousands of years and countless numbers of people have died as a result of their beliefs about the divine. I had done a lot of searching personally for my own connection to the divine before I attended my first ayahuasca ceremony and always had a somewhat cynical eye for organized religion.

I spent the better part of my life full time training/fighting/coaching with one of the toughest mma coach's & all male fight teams on the planet. Driven to see my sport go mainstream & make sure women evolve with it. Ten years ago when it finally did, I was called away and led to Yaje. Where I would meet my twin counterpart; a indigenous Amazonian Secoya elder. I was shown we have been channeling plant songs for lifetimes, and asked if I wanted to accept the agreement to do so in this life. At first I didn't believe a non indigenous crazy O.C fighter girl was worthy of these songs, so resisted until I got so sick, it was either step up or game over. The La.W is my personal journey transforming extreme darkness to light. Going from hate to love, The backwards way. Girded with laughter & love which would inevitably guide me home. Learning it's not who we "were" that matters, but rather who we "are" as we reinvent ourselves in each new now moment. When we stop giving our power away to others. We realize we have always had the power to accomplish & transform ANYTHING "including" spontaneously heal ourselves. Obviously, we cannot transform darkness without first having known it. So embracing our challenge(s), knowing they're self created, fulfilling a positive purpose. Puts us in the state to transform & experience them positively.

The thoughts, thunks, imaginings, phantasies, poetry, prose, essays and wordspasms of Donovan Volk, a despairing activist-writer who survives on eggs, potatoes and waxy apples. Much if not most is taken from life. When the author is not sitting in a darkened room making letters into words, (and words into sentences) , he is standing by a highway trying to thumb a lift, slowly drinking in the silence in the forest or tundra, pursuing a great coffee in some smoggy pit or bothering the local and national authorities. When the author is not referring to himself in the third person, he is referring to himself in the first, or sometimes to others in the second, or to the world at large in the first. This book is a depository, always evolving, it is as polymorphous as an alchemists tube-flask. The bunsen burner to this alchemical process is always life, the oxidase; imagination. The substance; feeling. I am sorry world, I will always let you down. Never will I quite do justice to the heights of wonder or the depths of despair that inhabit and fill up this globe. I can only do my best. Thank you for tolerating me so far.
