❛❛ We were young and so in love
We were just creatures in heaven ❜❜
In the heart of the Fire Nation, Louelle grows up between two worlds.
She is the daughter of a rising military man and an Earth Kingdom healer, raised in palace corridors lined with power, secrets, and the kind of silence that teaches children to notice more than they should. As she is shaped into something sharp enough to survive that world, she finds herself pulled into the orbit of Prince Zuko. Through bickering, then friendship, then something far more dangerous for two people born into families that would never let them belong to themselves.
What begins in stolen conversations, bruised training grounds, and quiet moments at the edge of the palace does not stay there. The Fire Nation asks for pieces of them both and calls it honor. And by the time they are old enough to understand what they mean to each other, the world they grew up in is already beginning to break apart.
Years later, when war has scattered them into very different versions of themselves, fate brings them back into each other's path. Only this time, they are no longer children in the royal gardens. They are survivors standing on opposite sides of a story much larger than the one that first bound them together.
❛❛ It tears through my head, does it haunt you too?
Never really said that I loved you, too ❜❜
