"Adam, please," I said as I felt tears start forming in my eyes. I blinked them back hoping to look strong, to show him not to give up, to listen to me. "No,I was wrong, we would never work, just forget about me," he whispered turning his head away from me and walking towards the entrance of the school. I crumpled to the ground while I watched him walk away. When he was out of sight, i let go of my tears. The hot liquid traveled down my face as I watched the door hoping he would come back. But I knew he wouldn't. Adam Alvarez. The name itself could make any girl melt. He's the leader of the Two. The Two consists of Adam and his best friend since he was born, David Dean. Most of the cool kids call them 'A-D'. Adam is captain of the soccer and basketball team. David is captain of the football and swim team. Adam has the bad boy attitude and David has the boy next door attitude. Adam is the player and David is committed. It should have been a clear choice who to fall for, but sometimes your heart ignores everything your mind says it should do. I'm Lillian Corbin, straight A's and B's and captain of the girls basketball team. Not exactly popular but I have more than one friend. I stay out of the Twos' way and they stay out of mine. I avoid boys at all cost. I stick to my friends and school. But, when I go to a college summer program, I find out Adam is there too. With my attraction towards him growing stronger I realized maybe staying away from boys wasn't as easy as I thought.
