Synopsis The miracle isn't that I got out. The miracle is that I didn't stop holding on even when the rope hung loose and holding on seemed like a trap set for myself. I learned that at 18, in a group chat that pinged at 6am with plans I couldn't afford to make. I don't even try to pretend, they wouldn't let me be me. I would want nothing but to get home then I get there and realize I don't have a home. I don't belong anywhere, I know and I've always known. The group chat lights up again. "U coming?" Three question marks. Like they already decided I would say yes. My thumb hovers over the keyboard. If I say no, I disappear. If I say yes, I disappear anyway. I type back then lay there, dreading the day that is yet to become. "lol yeah i'm in" I send it. The three dots appear instantly, then vanish. Then: "k cool. 8pm. don't be late this time." Don't be late this time. Like last week was my fault. Like showing up 10 minutes after they already left the restaurant was a choice. I pull the blanket over my head and stare at nowhere in particular. 8pm is 14 hours away. 14 hours of knowing exactly where I'm not wanted, and still going anyway.

ok so I just got this idea out of no where but it's a story about 2 girls. one girl named Isabella had horrible friends from elementary to middle school. so now she's in highschool and doesn't talk to anyone. the other girl named Maya, is basically Enid. I'm starting to realize how Wednesday coded this is. but it's based off of how I've been feeling lately, thinking friends are bad. ok bai have fun!

The saying "Bad company corrupts good manners" holds true in my personal experience. I found myself surrounded by people who engaged in unhealthy and unethical behaviors, and it wasn't long before I was also faced with similar temptations. While I was able to resist these temptations by saying no to them, I realized that not everyone has the same strength of willpower. I have seen many people who were once good and honest, get swayed by the influence of negative company and eventually fall prey to immoral activities. It's important to be cautious of the company we keep and to choose our friends wisely, as their influence can have a significant impact on our lives.
