Sometimes, I lie awake at the wee hours of the morning, and wonder what my life could have been like. Wondering what I would be doing, where would I be if I had grown up in a normal household, and if I had never met Oliver Thompson and his family. I wonder what would have happened if Oliver and I had not been paired up for that silly book report project that Mr. Smith assigned. However, I would like to thank him for that project, because that led me to become the person I am and have the life I am living right now.

This is a story that is told in vignettes; small little stories that can be either heartbreaking or joyous and have little connection to each other. Each vignettes is a memory of a girl as she loops her way around her different "lives" as she grows up in a abusive household and foster care. Listen to how this young girl deals with a mom who has delusions and bipolar.

There are many reasons we do things in this world... This story will take you through the ups and downs of a fifteen year old girl named Trishia and how he deals with an alcoholic mother, suicide, and raising herself and her brother, David. People help, but sometimes that isn't enough. Sometimes you just need a hug.
