Each vignettes is a memory of a girl as she loops her way around her different "lives" as she grows up in a abusive household and foster care. Listen to how this young girl deals with a mom who has delusions and bipolar.

Adrian Vale has lived a life carved out of shadows. At nineteen, he's the boy everyone notices - tall, striking, and untouchable. But behind the quiet stares and perfect posture lies a mind that never rests. Abused by parents who never loved him, shuffled through foster homes, and plagued by insomnia and night terrors, Adrian is a storm of scars and silence. His foster family has chosen him as their own, yet he still feels temporary, like he doesn't belong anywhere. Aurora Monroe is his opposite - light where he is dark. Beautiful, popular, and seemingly perfect, she is the kind of girl who turns heads without trying. But her golden smile hides a crumbling home: parents who can't stop screaming, nights spent drowning in noise she can't control, and a heart that aches with loneliness she never dares admit. When their worlds collide, something unexpected happens. Aurora's warmth begins to seep into Adrian's cold edges, and Adrian's presence quiets the storms that rage inside her. But healing doesn't come easy. Trauma clings like shadows, and trust feels impossible when both of them have spent years hiding their pain. Together, they may find the one thing they've both been searching for - safety. The kind of safety that only comes when someone finally sees you, scars and all.

Meet Autumn. She's funny, friendly, and smart. A sad girl left alone in the world. The death of her mother has left her father heartbroken and angry at the world. As the years have gone by, he has taken out this anger on Autumn. After stumbling upon a hidden spot near an abandoned farmhouse one day, she decides to make it her refuge. After her fights with her father, she goes to hide and unwind in her little rock overlook by the waterfall. Until one day her refuge is invaded. By a boy. ************************ Meet Jace. Stereotypical bad boy. He's somewhat a loner, despite having a different girl on his arm every week. He is the epitome of cool. Going to parties every month, each one crazier than the next. He has no reason to even look upon someone as small and unpopular as Autumn. That is, until he makes the mistake of sitting in her spot by the waterfall. A beautifully cute story of finding love against the odds. (Warning: this story is not super family-friendly. It contains mildly graphic scenes of abuse and has quite a bit of swearing.)

This story is an enemies to lovers one shot that I probably won't be continuing since it was very rushed, I know it's not the best I could've done so if there's any spelling or punctuation mistakes I apologize! This story does have academic rivalry, abusive/bad home life, etc. Please DO NOT read if that makes you uncomfortable! Thank you and I hope you enjoy my story (P.S this is a VERY short story)

Sometimes, I lie awake at the wee hours of the morning, and wonder what my life could have been like. Wondering what I would be doing, where would I be if I had grown up in a normal household, and if I had never met Oliver Thompson and his family. I wonder what would have happened if Oliver and I had not been paired up for that silly book report project that Mr. Smith assigned. However, I would like to thank him for that project, because that led me to become the person I am and have the life I am living right now.
