Have you ever played Jenga? A single wrong move and the whole tower collapses. That was what Aliya's and her family's life had become. Aliya had no part to play in the mistake that shook her family and her life. Will Aliya be able to regain her trust in people and most importantly, her religion? --------------------- The cold breeze blew on my face. I could smell the familiar scent of roses. I smiled and opened my eyes. Nadia, my mother sat across me, a smile plastered on her face; that's where the fragrance came from. Following her gaze, I saw both my sisters, Aida and Abeer, splashing water on each other at the shore of the beach. I walked down to the beach, my sisters were still in the water, laughing, giggling and playing with each other. I took a few shots of the seashells and the algae at the shore, waiting for the sunset. I could see my parents, working together to pack up the picnic we had set up, both of their actions complimenting each other perfectly. They understood each other without even talking. That always amazed me. And well, a lot of other people too. As we walked down the beach, to the car park, I noticed my father moving in the opposite direction. I did not call after him. I noticed something sparkle, that's probably what he was going after. My mother noticed him later, she called after him, but he wouldn't listen. He slightly turned his head, but ignored us. He reached the sparkling stone, and held it in his hands. We tried to run over to him, but it was too late. A fence with dead black roses formed in front of us, around him. He was trapped. He tried coming back to us, but he couldn't resist the sparkle. Soon the beautiful sparkling stone he was holding, started turning into a deep black coal, which stained his hands black as well. All I could do was stand and look. I tried to reach out to him, but I couldn't. Soon, smaller pieces of coal attacked him, and he was turned to dust.
