Author's Note: eeeek!! Okay this is my first fic and I worked really hard on it and care way too much. Weekly updates. (hopefully!) Long Form because I don't know how to not include every single thought I have into a story apparently. This is a post-canon continuation fic eight-year time skip story that begins the moment Deku learns the truth, and realizes the last eight years were never empty at all. They were full of someone else's quiet devotion, carried silently, deliberately, without expectation of recognition. Bakugo and Izuku have always been part of each other's lives, but adulthood, trauma, and time have changed the way they orbit. The story focuses on reconnection into slice of life. A few notes going in: - This fic is written in alternating first-person POV (Bakugo / Deku). Each chapter stays fully inside one character's head. - Slow, emotional, and character-driven. Lots of internal monologue, dialogue, memory, and quiet moments. - PTSD, survivor's guilt, and war aftermath are explored gradually and honestly, including therapy later on. - Romance is intentional, soft, and earned. Physical intimacy appears later and only where it makes emotional sense. - Bakugo calls Izuku by his first name, and Izuku is a teacher at U.A. at the start of the story. Bakugo is a Pro Hero Updates are planned weekly or bi-weekly (I'll see my timing after the first couple chapters), with longer chapters that sometimes span multiple parts. After defeating All for One at Kamino Ward, the world went quiet. All Might went back to teaching, still offering guidance to his successor and Izuku's classmates, while Katsuki had to reconcile with the guilt of ending All Might's hero career. After fighting Izuku at Ground Beta, Aizawa put his foot down and made Katsuki begin therapy. It helped. For a while. But needing help made Katsuki feel weak. And feeling weak wasn't easy for him to swallow. So, he stopped going and let everything simmer inside until he could barely look his friends in the eyes, too scared they could see straight through him. Except for one pair of bright green eyes, that shined in Katsuki's direction and made him feel like maybe, just maybe, there was still an outstretched hand. All he had to do was take it. OR Katsuki doesn't know how to be a good friend. But he wants to. [Author's Note: This is incredibly self indulgent. Lots of trans characters. Basically everyone is queer. Mild drug use (weed pen). Lots of swearing and canon typical violence. The slowest of burns, but I promise it has a happy ending <3]

PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION BEFORE READING THE STORY!! Ever since they were kids, Katsuki Bakugo has been mercilessly bullying his classmate Izuku Midoriya for being quirkless-or so Izuku thought. He learns as he matures that the relentless Katsuki is afraid of his own weakness, and Izuku's new quirk intimidates him. But after a fight full of punches and confessions, the two start to have a better understanding of each other. This understanding starts to turn into a complicated friendship, and then into a budding romance-that's until Izuku mysteriously leaves UA with barely a trace. This story does have some canonicity in it, but some events are switched around. I'm going to try and make the personalities of the characters as canon as possible, but this is a fanfiction so there will be some differences here and there to fit with the story. There is no smut in this fanfic. I believe writing smut between minors is disgusting and weird. If you want to read bkdk smut, this fanfic is not for you. Lastly, these are not my characters-the characters belong to Kohei Horikoshi. As for the cover, the art is done by Lois (it's the watermark on the cover) and I found it on Pinterest from user Joleen.
