In the late 1980s, Adam Juarez, a gay boy from Harlem, has lost all hope when his parents throw him out of the house and he finds himself living on the streets until he is rescued by a peculiar family who takes him in like their own. He discovers that they are a part of a wider underground community of kinship, art and competition, and is suddenly facing the challenge of navigating this new world. But with the help of his House mother and sisters, Adam is determined to climb his way to the top and become a household name in the House & Ball scene.
