The day before the Genin exams, Sakura's parents sit her down. They want her to get engaged with a man they have picked to help take over the Haruna merchant business instead of continuing to be a ninja. Sakura has to make the decision of a lifetime that will change the future of Team 7.

It's Haruno Sakura's fourth reincarnation, and her second time as a skin-changing creature of flame and destruction. The name marring her skin brings both hope and despair in equal measures, because her name in that world is rarely spoken amongst those who remember it. The name hammered into her soul is as good as a curse. One which doesn't promise a happy story, or a happy ending in the slightest. Still, it doesn't stop her from longing for that elusive feeling which has escaped her in all three of her previous lives. Sakura didn't quite know what to expect after she died - peace and quiet, or a reunion of friends perhaps? She most certainly didn't bank on the idea of being reborn. She knows the reason for this, though - that being her father does not belong to that world, or so her mother eventually told her - and with the war finally behind her, she sets off to find him. With hope in her heart, she travels to her father's homeland, eager to find her place there. But family relationships are tricky, and Sakura finds herself stumped by the task set before her, because her father believes her and her mother dead. It's one thing to introduce herself to her estranged father, but another thing entirely for her to shatter the world he's built in the wake of the assumed loss of his family. Basically, canon screwed sakura and the girls in naruto and we're fixing it. It's also definitely gonna be au. Follows canon loosely. Bad at descriptions, but this is Haruno Sakura centric and we may have the occasional POV switch. Edit because maybe I could attempt a summary: Sakura was a shy, troubled girl. All she wanted was to be a great Shinobi like her mother and make her proud. Then Ino came into the picture and her precious people grew, now she's gonna make sure their dreams come true. Because her nindo way is to protect the dreams of her precious people. No matter what.

An Au where all hope is lost and our favorite couple has to fix the tragedies of the past in order for a new and better future to arise.
