I wanted to do something a bit experimental for a beautiful painting that I recently learned of. I really enjoyed doing this, writing about how I see a work of art and how it makes me feel. This oil-on-canvas painting, sometimes called "The Kitchen Maid", is estimated to have been completed around 1658. It is currently located at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.

The creatures will come get you when you turn 16, that's what Elizabeth has always been told. She never wanted to believe it, it was absurd. But when had anything in her life been normal, she lives in a city called Canterbury which is ruled over by the all powerful Queen Ursula. The city was her whole life, quite literally. It is surrounded by impossibly high walls. Some people were let out but only a trusted few. It was a prison, but nobody dared say that incase the Queen heard. Nothing came in and nothing came out. Well, the creatures came in. Elizabeth had never seen them but she had heard stories. Stories of flying pirate ships and horrible half human creatures stalking into homes at night and taking children who were old enough. She had convinced herself that they were not real, that is until her best friend was taken by them. Now she's determined to do anything it takes to get her back even if that means letting herself get taken by the creatures on the roof. Ps. this will not be a dark story, definitely going to have a happy ending + romance!! Disclaimers: I do not own the cover art!

As the people dash to a place where the creature lived, Gustave quickly comes to save her. During the battle, Gustave is wounded and the creature is almost dying. Gustave worried about the creature if she the curse would be broken and would she see her kingdom again.
