Welcome to Grayton Falls, Kentucky.
Sawyer Yates has tried to keep his time short in his home town since he graduated and left for the pro rodeo circuit at eighteen. However, after receiving a call from his father that his cancer is terminal and he must return home in the middle of the season. After his father's death, Sawyer is now in charge of the ranch he grew up on. While he's struggling with the fact that his rodeo career is over, he's faced with a new challenge: the head trainer at the ranch can't stand him and doesn't listen to a word he says, but he's undeniably pulled to her.
Dawson Eckles has always known her way around horses. The moment she turned eighteen, she left her broken home on the outskirts of Grayton Falls and started training horses for Cornerstone Ranch and has been at it ever since. She moved up the ranks to head trainer and built a strong bond with the ranch's owner, John Yates. Grief stricken by his death and bitter toward his rambler son, she must assert her dominance at the ranch that raised and healed her. Besides, she'd been there when he hadn't.
Sawyer and Dawson can't stand each other. Equally grumpy and stubborn, they must learn to work with each other for the sake of the ranch. But being in close contact pulls them together in ways they both want to deny.
How long will Sawyer and Dawson be able to fight their connection? How long will they want to?
