"Whats war?" Is a fanfic about Ba sing se from the show Avatar: THE last Airbender. A girl from Ba sing se tells the story of how every lie hidden beneath the walls they thought they could trust can shatter so simply and quickly. (Finish later)

Kiyan never expected to be the Avatar. And now that she is, she's finding she never even wanted to be. She's used to her old life as a simple waterbender, with no great spiritual burdens or destinies or whatever nonsense this Avatar business has suddenly forced on her. Now, she's constantly on the run from the crazy lunatics who murdered the last two Avatars, and who've made it their mission to end the Cycle entirely. In an attempt to finally get her out of their reach, her protectors decide that a time machine is the way to go, and send her back to 130AG, to Republic City to seek mentoring from Avatar Aang himself. There's just one tiny problem. She's thirty years off target. Kiyan decides to wait out the end of the Hundred Years War in a little Earth Kingdom village with the family who's been kind enough to take her in. After all, she's safe there, and she never asked for this whole Avatar deal anyway. Unfortunately, fate has other plans, and her masterful strategy for avoiding danger is thrown into chaos with the arrival of a familiar scarred swordsman. REWRITING: I noticed that I am very far off on facts and I want to recycle this story and make it better. I'll still be leaving this version up as far as I have it. Tenzin is a nervous loner living in the Southern Air Temple. With his father gone visiting the Northern Air Temple, his anxiety attacks are getting worse. Although his mentor and respective uncle Monk Kwan is watching over him, he is feeling the constant pressure to join the young airbenders to the Western and Eastern Air Temples for the Season, to court and legally bond with the females there. But how could he reproduce and risk passing down the same fate he has to a child? How could his timid personality ever attract a female airbender, especially with the limited experience he has associating with them? But his curiosity gets the better of him as he decides to go with the young airbenders, but only to meditate in the famous Meditation Circle at the Eastern Air Temple. When he accidentally disrupts a female airbender's traditional week-long meditation before her Anointment Ceremony, the last thing he expects is to make a friend. But the upbeat, cheerful, forgiving yet unforgiving young woman won't take a no to a game of airball for an answer. Will she still be able to accept him when he tells her what he is? No one else has, so how could she be any different? Is there a possibility of a real Air Nomadic life for him? This is my own idea of how Aang's parents met and their relationship, and the Air Nomad's traditional way of reproducing. If you had your own idea of how it should have been and you're upset about how mine is completely different, then I apologize but I'm excited to write my story. The Gaang goes to visit Zuko, because of something he saw. Zuko is convinced that he's seen a non bender air bend. Aang seems interested, and forces the Gaang to go to fire Nation, and confront the so called "air bender".

The story details the budding romance between Zuko and Zhen, who hails from a regal life of splendour much like Zuko's back in the Fire Nation. And much like his, there is dark unrest in her seemingly privileged life. The timeline is set during the Gaang's month-long misadventures in Ba Sing Se while waiting for the Earth King as Zuko and Iroh adjust to being refugees.
