Hello there Reader! Hurioaki here! Sooo this past week has been crazy and shit. Can I say shit? No? Ok. Anyways, this past week has been crazy. I'm just trying to prove myself, and I get maimed for it, then I'm taken out of my house, dropped under a tree, sent on my way, and I pass out in front of a tea shop. At least Uncle Mushi is nice, even though that's not his actual name. Zuko's a bit emotionally unstable, but that's his own issue. Oh. One last thing, they all think I'm a dude. He was going to train in the air temples and become an air nomad and live in peace and prosperity. But what if he doesn't want that? What if he wants to get on dangerous adventures? However Some prefer to keep them hidden from the rest of their friends, sometimes out of concern for them or just pure stubbornness. But what happens when one of Aangs friends and now love of his life discovers his internal turmoil after a long day together. Would he bother pushing her away or would they actually talk about the Avatar's pain. (I don't own Avatar The Last Airbender. It is a fanfiction from the series. this story touches on stuff like PTSD, has a little bit of scary Imagery due to nightmares, and it's placed a year or so after the war. I'm not perfect but I'm trying, this is my first one-shot so bare with me. The story details the budding romance between Zuko and Zhen, who hails from a regal life of splendour much like Zuko's back in the Fire Nation. And much like his, there is dark unrest in her seemingly privileged life. The timeline is set during the Gaang's month-long misadventures in Ba Sing Se while waiting for the Earth King as Zuko and Iroh adjust to being refugees. I have already posted this on Fanfiction.net under the same title but unfortunately my country has banned the website. Reviews warmly welcomed! Any constructive criticism is much appreciated.

Rhea lost her parents at a young age to a war that they never signed up for. When General Iroh - a prince of the fire nation - finds her, she fears that she'll face the same fate. But, having just lost his son, Iroh takes pity on the little girl. Taking her to the Fire Nation palace, he raises her as he could no longer raise his son. Together they help each other through the loss of their families. As the war rages on, Rhea and Iroh are separate, leaving Rhea to a fate she never wanted.

Iroh of the Fire Nation is a broken man. He failed to conquer Ba Sing Se, shamed his family and nation, and feels responsible for the death of his son. Iroh retreats to the Northern Water Tribe to live out the remainder of his life away from all who know him. Though Iroh has concluded he has nothing more to offer the world, destiny has other plans for the disgraced general... Poem inside is called Leaves From The Vine and not written by me. Only a portion of it is spoken on the television show so I had to look for a full version. There were several and I went for the one I felt best fit the story.
