Maite, a girl who has done everything by the way it "should be" and ends up having a summer of full excitement and free of cares as she goes all out in her trip to a small town in the Basque Country with a friend. she is known to be a hopeless romantic that can't find anything like the books she reads until she meets Jon. A mysterious guy that she keeps noticing around town. She thinks he's cute but isn't one to expose her feelings to strangers. But then the two eventually meet, initiating the beginning of a fun summer romance that Maite will forever hold onto.

"Tales of Survival and Revenge" is the theme of BEGINNINGS I. On her escape into France, her infant son is the victim of a callous border guard but she and her unborn daughter are saved by an unknown assassin; both actions echoing past and future violence and vengeance. The trauma sends the unborn child's mind deep into the past where a horrible crime against her ancestors in prehistoric times hints at the genesis of otherwise inexplicable hatred and violence that have often re-surfaced down through the centuries. Back in Bayonne, Maria buries her infant son in a world of self-recriminations. It is only through communion with her unborn child and a new friend that she begins to face life again, but unaware of just how dangerous the birth of her new child may turn out to be.

Brujo: A Witch's Tale is a dark fantasy story that tells the grim tale of two Basque sisters, young Ainhoa and her younger sister, Eilish, who once lived separately from each other due to Eilish's mysterious "blood illness" but conjoin together after their parents, Geliga and Marcrusio de Raido, got arrested for witchcraft by the Spanish Inquisition, which forced the sisters to trust each other and escape the grasps of the Master Inquisitor, Faltpresto Vulgrima, who is dreadfully obsessed in capturing Eilish. With Ainhoa relying on her wits and instincts and Eilish dealing with her illness, the girls attempt the impossible as they survive against the Inquisition and a supernatural force of vampire birds that plague Northern Spain in one of the most darkest and unforgiving times in history.

The Beltzoak, beings so advanced they wield quantum paradoxes as weapons, encounter an object that shouldn't be a threat. A crude, trembling disc-like something out of a 1950s sci-fi myth-floats before them, untouched by singularities, mocking their power. What follows is not a battle, but a lesson: they were never the predators. They were the prey.
