Alternative Universe ; 2018 A twisted story about Dan's family versus Dan's fans... What could go wrong?

Bastille are old news. Times change and the four grew old, settled down and had families of their own. But this story is about the children of Bastille, and how they created a band of their own... While individually going through their own problems.

It was never easy, being raised by a man who was 17 when I was born and forced into looking after me, especially not when he was in a band. I was always a burden, and then in 2013 after Bastille's first hit, Dad and I drifted further apart than ever before...

' Dan no - fuck off ' I say harshly - trying to keep my expression cold and hard while my insides cripple and my heart sinks through the earths mantle . ' I - I don't understand , I - I love you ' he says his eyes brimming with tears as I back away from him when he tries to reach his hand out to me . ' exactly - I never wanted this ' I say turning away - too afraid he'll see I'm lying . I feel as though I'm going to cave over onto the pavement as I walk away . Pain impales my chest as I hear him yell my name . He promises me we can work it out . He begs me to come back . I walk faster . He doesn't come after me as I turn the corner out of his sight and out of his life . He didn't follow because I asked him not to , I only wish he could read between the lines and see the great 'I love you' that my tears spell out to him , as I get back into the cigarette smoke filled car and I'm driven away from the only love I've really ever known . ' it had to be done ' he says lighting up another cigarette . ' no - not like this ' I whisper ' girls like you - they don't mix with guys like him - ' ' you mean the papers don't pay for girls like me ' I interrupt him through gritted teeth . ' I'm glad you understand ' he says with a bitter smile . I bite my tongue and refuse to lash out on him . It's done now and he'll never speak to me again . There's no point in being angry - I don't have the energy to be . He was my only energy . My everything .

Dan is playing a superhero for a new movie. It might come to a shock to the system for old Bastille fans, but he's genuinely happy acting instead of singing. Everyone wishes him well...except for the ones who don't. They're people who think the worst of him because of a past tragedy. After all, the man with many talents, is very familiar with heroes and villains in his own life. This superhero flick called 'Illusion' suits Dan better than his characters suit!

What good is romance if it's dead? That's what Liz thinks. After years of heartbreak after heartbreak she's given up. Until she meets Dan in a weird turn of events. After confronting a dangerous criminal and some crazy people, she realizes she loves him. And till death do part...

But things turn from sweet to bittersweet within a short period of time...especially when Zadie is found dead by Dan just after her hen weekend. After her murder, it's up to Dan to solve her death himself, along with a beautiful detective. As he falls down the dark wormhole of the investigation he uncovers some terrible home truths about his bride-to-be. Through Zadie's webbed lies and frequent disappearances, he realises that his fiancée wasn't the perfect person he made her out to be, which destroys him more. What happens when Dan realises that his relationship was built on a lie and that his 'one true love' never loved him back? ( A collaboration by @goodgriefbastille + me )
