Bastillewill Stories

This is a coming-of-age story where Dan and his wife are forced to grow up quicker than other people their age, which already sucks. To make matters worse, they also have to confront and deal with many difficult challenges that life throws at them... After all, life was never meant to be simple.

' Dan no - fuck off ' I say harshly - trying to keep my expression cold and hard while my insides cripple and my heart sinks through the earths mantle . ' I - I don't understand , I - I love you ' he says his eyes brimming with tears as I back away from him when he tries to reach his hand out to me . ' exactly - I never wanted this ' I say turning away - too afraid he'll see I'm lying . I feel as though I'm going to cave over onto the pavement as I walk away . Pain impales my chest as I hear him yell my name . He promises me we can work it out . He begs me to come back . I walk faster . He doesn't come after me as I turn the corner out of his sight and out of his life . He didn't follow because I asked him not to , I only wish he could read between the lines and see the great 'I love you' that my tears spell out to him , as I get back into the cigarette smoke filled car and I'm driven away from the only love I've really ever known . ' it had to be done ' he says lighting up another cigarette . ' no - not like this ' I whisper ' girls like you - they don't mix with guys like him - ' ' you mean the papers don't pay for girls like me ' I interrupt him through gritted teeth . ' I'm glad you understand ' he says with a bitter smile . I bite my tongue and refuse to lash out on him . It's done now and he'll never speak to me again . There's no point in being angry - I don't have the energy to be . He was my only energy . My everything .

Bastille are old news. Times change and the four grew old, settled down and had families of their own. But this story is about the children of Bastille, and how they created a band of their own... While individually going through their own problems.

3 AM. The demon hour. The challenge? Bastille is to survive from 9 PM all the way to 7 AM. What could possibly go wrong in an abandoned house that's supposedly inhabited by the Flaming Skull? Two years ago at a charity concert Bastille lead singer Dan Smith and events manager Phoebe Hawkes shared a short yet unforgettable kiss, before parting ways, knowing they would never see each other again. However a lot has changed since then. Phoebe is struggling with a long-term relationship break up and her once perfect career is in tatters. Whereas Dan, whom is heartbroken and desperate after seeing his bandmates develop relationships without him, finds himself stuck in the middle of a court case which is forcing him to choose between his family or his friends. When by chance they are brought back together again will they be able to re-kindle their forgotten kiss, or will their personal demons and problems obliterate their chance before they take it.

Dan and Zadie were once thought to be the 'perfect' couple. They were pretty much inseparable...or so Dan thinks at the start of the novel. But things turn from sweet to bittersweet within a short period of time...especially when Zadie is found dead by Dan just after her hen weekend. After her murder, it's up to Dan to solve her death himself, along with a beautiful detective. As he falls down the dark wormhole of the investigation he uncovers some terrible home truths about his bride-to-be. Through Zadie's webbed lies and frequent disappearances, he realises that his fiancée wasn't the perfect person he made her out to be, which destroys him more. What happens when Dan realises that his relationship was built on a lie and that his 'one true love' never loved him back? ( A collaboration by @goodgriefbastille + me )
