An expansion based on an excerpt from my ENCA fanfic and an ENCA story posted on IG. This is my fictional history of the bathalas and bathalumans of Encantadia. Disclaimer : I don't own Encantadia, Etheria or Mulawin. I just like to play in their playground every now and then. Author's Notes : This is not totally compliant to the ENCA storyline, which means it's canon until it's not.

Why did we live? What is our purpose? Why do we exist? Maybe God was bored so he created man? Well, one of the given answers would be because we need to facilitate His creations. To look out and care for His gifts. But what if life isn't for that? What if life isn't for finding it's true purpose? What if it's about giving purpose to other than ourselves? Confusing? Then to enlighten you, let me tell you a story... Of a tale long ago... that existed even before man was made. Let's start it with... Once. Upon. A. Still, I put effort in it even if it's quite simple. You can read it to children but please do not own it cause I really put my love in it.

This story is an ongoing YA novel writing project based on Philippine mythology. Nico Zamora, the main protagonist, discovers that his father is a member of a secret organization that protects mythological creatures in the world known as "cryptids" from an unknown force that corrupts them. The story will offer a new perspective in Philippine mythology that doesn't just stop on the popular horror tales and will give spotlight more on the magnificent beasts that live across the archipelago.

A High Schooler, Rencien Larjo, just wanted to be the normal teenager he is, he just want to find where he fits in and find the company he never had. Selene does not believe in healers and enchantments. She believes in science and things she can see. In a province where people still believes in witch doctors, nature spirits, and deities, where her most terrifying memory resides, how can she accept to live there again? A phone call would return her to the place she wished to forget. Memories, wounds, and secrets await her.

The Sanlibutan Chronicles is my attempt to recreate a fantasy world based and inspired by Philippine History and Mythology. Inspired by the works of J.R.R Tolkien and video games like the Elder Scrolls Series, this is my mythopoeia of local Filipino culture, recreating a new world with its own creation story, historical eras, and lore. This would be a novel like The Silmarillion where it starts with the story of the powerful deity Bathala and the appearance of the Devas and the Asura beings and the creation of the mortal realm, Sansinukob, and the planet Sanlibutan. The mortal races of Diwatas, Engkantos, Duwendes, Beastfolks, and Men, along with other animals and monsters would soon dominate the land. Others are descendants of the Devas (Diwatas, Engkantos, Men) while others are creations of the gods. After the creation story, the story would include several historical eras based on the lore history: The First, Second, Third, and Fourth Eras. This is mostly lore and not a story since this is still a work in progress. More research is still needed especially on our local folklore and the folklore of the indigenous tribes like the Igorots and the Lumads. I have yet to create a map and setting for the story.

Incorporating the rich tapestry of Philippine mythology, "Defying the Bathalas" explores themes of redemption, personal growth, and the struggle against oppressive forces. It weaves together elements of epic battles, political intrigue, and the complexities of human nature to create a captivating narrative set in a Filipino-inspired world filled with magic, legends, and the enduring spirit of the people.
