Batty Stories

When I found a little investigation in how Disney Princesses spend their time (http://sthnhoskinsftvnm.blogspot.com/2015/08/disney-princess-gender-representation.html) I just thought: Whoa, it reminds me actually of the daily adventures of my beloved book series, The Penderwicks by Jeanne Birdsall. Although never Disney got mentioned, there are so intriguing references and simalirities...I want to share them here in this little, fun theory... Were the Penderwicks a Disney movie all along? (cover consists of 5 shots I made with the fairy tale maiden maker of Azalea Dolls. I was inspired by the 5 main sisters, but there were not enough possibilties for fan art).

A baby monster is adopted by Mystery Inc. after being abandoned in the woods. Follow as all kinds of wacky hijinks, but wholesome moments commence! Almost a year has passed since the Penderwicks visited Point Mouette, and each sister has a daunting task ahead of them. Rosalind is entering grade 9, the final stage of junior high, not to mention that she's studying to earn her learner's licence. Skye is starting grade 8, and with it comes a mountain of emotions and responsibilities. Jane's prepping herself for her first year of junior high, and Batty is just beginning grade school. However, there is a silver lining. Iantha has urgently been called to Boston, and she brings Skye, Jane and Batty with her to visit Jeffery. Rosalind stays home along with Mr. Penderwick and Ben, in order to study for her test and hopefully see Tommy. What will this summer bring for the Penderwick sisters? --- Characters are rightfully Jeanne Birdsall's. Most Penderwick fanfics focus on Skye, and her struggles with life, but this one focuses a bit more on Jane.
