A girl wakes up alone in a deserted city. She miraculously survived a three story fall and is prepared to face whatever is coming her way. But she doesn't know that it's a horde of zombies and a group of crazy survivors that she leads through the end of the world. This is a story I started on Fanfiction.net so it's possible that I'll accidentally leave author notes here and there. Also there's about three chapters from fanfiction in every one chapter here... This is my second short story for the National Geographic #PlanetOrPlastic writing contest. I trimmed over one hundred words to keep it below the 500 word limit, but all in the name of environmental awareness! My story takes place in a post-apocalyptic future, where the ocean has retaliated against humans by flooding the planet, leaving few survivors. A young girl named Willa has spent her entire life inside a historic castle in Germany, where her great-grandfather worked as curator before the flooding began. But an otherworldly experience is about to change her life forever.

"Yes, you became evil but you are not evil." Alexis frowned and started her way out but only to be pushed back against the wall shocked at the sudden movement. She froze with a confused look as Nero searches her face and smirked, his face getting closer as his lips reached for Alexis's ear and he whispered huskily sending shivers to the young girl . . .
