His dad had died when he was younger so he struggles to express kindness or affection like he used to. Will that ever change? He's currently on a trip to Hawaii which his step dad had payed for. He says the place is nice and all but he could've picked a better time to have a vacation, instead of in a middle of a school year. There this girl who's always by the sea which he thinks is weird because she never does anything energetic even though she looks around his age. On a random day his mom pulls his last straw and he sneaks out of the house and to the beach. He throws a can into the sand. Never cared about rubbish really. Then he makes a cruel joke about 'suicidal turtles'. Suddenly, he hears a voice behind him and turns. It's the girl, the girl who's usually by the sea but she doesn't seem too happy.
