This is an AU for "Detroit Become Human", it may contain references to the game, which could spoil it. (Only a wee bit, but still be careful) Also this story/AU contains Rk1000 (Markus x Connor) The king of the Jericho kingdom, Carl Manfred, on the verge of death, ordered, that Markus, his adopted son, take the throne after he dies. Especially since Markus was highly respected and loved, this wasn't an unpopular decision. In spite of this, Markus only agreed to take the throne until Carl's blood son Leo, I.E. the rightful heir, he's been rehabilitated from his drug addiction. That seemed to work and to be comforting for a total of three days, until Carl's son died from a drug overdose. Markus now had to take the role as king, and he decided to finish a plan the his father, Carl had wished to start. Carl always wanted to restore their relationship with the Cyberlife kingdom, but his sickness got in the way and the king, Elijah Kamski, always denied Carl's proposal. But now, Cyberlife had a new queen, she wasn't any nicer than Elijah, but she accepted Markus's peaceful proposal. He leaves his country and goes into CyberLife blindly. While in CyberLife, he meets a servant to Amanda, and this servant teaches him the dos and don'ts of CyberLife culture. But the servant unintentionally teaches him something much more sinister.

The happy-to-help android tilted his head in confusion like he was listening to something. Conner had removed his LED a few weeks ago, but Hank was sure that if it was still on, it would be a racing yellow. "HAnk? Am I stilL hEre?...am...aLivE?" His voice had that robotic edge again, making it very muffled and echo-y. "YES!" Hank yelled into his face, "Yes Connor, you are! You are alive! Fight back you son-of-a-bitch! Fight back!" Conner's hands began to clench and twitch uncontrollably. Hank took a step back. "I Am aLiVe?" Connor repeated weakly.

What if... Connor never became deviant, he never killed Hank on the rooftop because they were best buds, a violent revolution succeeded, somehow everyone from Markus' gang survived and Detroit didn't go into android hands so easily (because everyone fucking hates them)? To say in short... way too much.

With every new case, plus a new partner to aid on its seemingly never-ending quest, it will only be an amount of time before it uncovers the culprit...and a question that he had buried once his doubts started to waver his cold, calculated being. Markus, a personalized android tasked with caring for an aging artist, starts to question what he knows as he is thrust into an untrusting, crumbling world that always beckons him to decide his hidden truths. Kara, a household android who awakened with nearly no memories of her life prior to her being fixed in an android store, was forced to venture outside of her home as she desperately tries to navigate her inner desires and the cruel world around her, all while caring for a child whose mind was stained by the horrors of her home. Rogue androids, an unrest stirring among the people, and a hidden conspiracy? Guess you really can't have shit in Detroit (sorry for the slur). idk what I wanna do here man. basically a reimagining of Detroit: Become Human by David Cage and the peeps at Quantic Dream. Story-driven insert of the reader into Connor's storyline. Chapters are long, that's why there are not many. Slow burn romance - no smut. Quick Background - Hank is your uncle and pretty much your adoptive dad as you've been living with him since you were quite young. You became a detective at the DPD and work with Hank. You're pro androids and work to prove they're being alive. None of these characters are mine and all goes to the creators of DBH.
