A gothic style short story. Boyd's mother is dead -murdered if you ask him- and his mind is whirling. After accidentally exacting revenge, Boyd is brought to a major life junction, fess up or cover up. Is it possible to escape the past or does it haunt the living more than the dead do?

17 million people around the world suffer from Myalgic Encephalomyelitis or ME and it is incurable and untreatable. The disease is called ME but Chronic Fatigue Syndrome or CFS is the name the CDC gave it. Doctors for the most part think that it is all in our heads; well it's not. ME is a neuro-immune disease that affects every aspect of your life. Diagnosed originally in September of 2012, this author was bedridden from October 2013 through August 1, 2015. this author couldn't go past her own back yard and that's on an extremely good day, her life came to a stand still and she couldn't move forward. In June of 2013, she graduated with her MBA and was supposed to start her Ph.D in early 2014 but that was not to be. In this batch of poems, this author hopes to show others that they aren't alone in this. She hopes that people will come together to raise awareness for this miserable illness. Her personal story of her life with ME can be found in the first chapter of this book in video form. The cover is of the Survivor Tree at the 9/11 memorial that this author took in 2011. Staring through her window, all she can do is dream about the outside world. After being struck with scarlet fever, Bridgette Pierce was bedridden in her attic bedroom. Bedridden is the story of a boy with a rare disease which leaves him unable to leave his bed, alone in an unfamiliar city ward. Over time he becomes caught up in a number of trying challenges involving gangs, drugs and death. How will Charlie cope with the new and exotic threats which shake his very existence to the core? What decisions will he make, and how will these affect his life forever?
