The other bees scoffed and mocked Bea's awkwardness and lack of skills. "Don't pay attention to them," said Wallie, a drone who always kept fluttering around the hive. "Sure, as you don't have anything to do," said Bea with discouragement. "They're right. I'm a clumsy good for nothing," she pointed sadly. "Bah. It's not your fault. It's that you're just different." "Yes; gross, clumsy and careless." "Don't be so hard on yourself. You'll learn." Bea is just one of the hundreds of bees that make up the colony, each one occupied in their own tasks. In a forest infested with fruit, a big pink bird shore the air with a purple bird cage. In the cage was a young girl and two monkeys. They where being brought to a nest. A monkey prepared for a swing on a vine. The vine was a green that stuck out. With it being darker then any other green from the trees. The monkey held the vine. It pulled it causing a mango to fall to the ground. The mango exploded as it hit the dirt. The monkey then swung from the vine. Then a loud crash filled the forest. The cage fell down. The monkeys that where in it fell out. But the girl was still in. The bird have the monkey a death state for a few seconds. By the time it looked away the cage was nowhere to be seen. The bird pecked into the monkey's ear. Then flew down in search of the now missing girl. Unknown by the bird she is safe. Or is she?

'The Beehive State' is a brief, short story of the beginning of a new found relationship between Oliver, a starving artist, and Thorn, a young man finding his way in life. The story takes place in Altamont, Utah one of the smallest towns in the state; this oneshot is indeed slash, meaning it's about a romance between two male characters. It does not appeal to all however I hope many will grow to love this humorous piece as I have!
