When Hannah Baker is taunted and hurt by people at school the only person who cares is her best friend. When Hannah decides to kill herself her best friend falls into depression and has the same thoughts that she lost her best friend to. She ends up listening to Hannahs tapes because she is the only trusted friend Hannah had.
