The streets of Paright district are full of people and alive with post-Christmas spirit. String lights, little pine trees and candles displayed in shops windows, and the Christmas market fills the air with mulled wine, roasted almonds and cinnamon. Tourists file in and out of the shopping streets and central train station. To them, Mondana is a flawless metropolis.
In the shadows of the grand train station, the homeless gather to endure the cold. They are invisible to the shoppers and visitors, their struggles drowned out by the loud music of the city. Here, a runaway girl wanders. She is young, alone, and fighting to survive in a world that has already turned its back on her.
When she meets a fellow outcast she finds an unexpected guide. He teaches her how to navigate this harsh new reality, but also reminds her of something she thought she'd lost; the strength to dream. Together they fight against hunger and the coldness of the years last days.
My best friends review: ;)
Pigeon is a beautiful and tragic story of survival, fantasy and friendship. It sees through the eyes of the outcasts of society which is pretty unusual.
