Beleriand Stories

A ballad I wrote imagining the parting of Turin Turambar and Beleg Cuthalion during the events of the Silmarillion when Turin runs away from Doriath and Beleg is sent to find him. Just what was going through their minds when they were separated? This song was written as part of my story 'In Shadows', but won't appear in it for several more chapters. My first attempt at ever writing a song! I am currently in the process of creating the music for it.

This tale was the winner of the "Runes of Daeron" Contest, made by the Conselho Branco - Sociedade Tolkien - a non-profit brazilian organization created to study and publicize the fantastic work of writer, professor and philologist J.R.R. Tolkien. It was published in issue 22 of the Council's newsletter, "O Palantir", in 2012. As a big fan, it's an honor for me. The tale accompanies the conversations of a Balrog with the elf Fëanor. In the mythology created by Tolkien in The Silmarillion, Fëanor rebelled against the gods, and after his death his cursed spirit retreated into the halls of Mandos and never returned to his relatives. The Balrog (also known as Valarauko) decides to tell his story, from the origin of the world, to the elf, because he thinks it will make a difference in his life.

My life was normal. I had a job, I had a beautiful cat and i was living in a small flat among many in New York. For a long time nothing have changed. And I liked it.Untill one day my life changed completely... Because one day i found myself in Beleriad the first age. The age which Morgoth was the Great Enemy and Noldor was trying to get back the Silmarills. This is a fiction about Maedhros' children and grand-children. The beginning of this story takes place in the middle of the Years of Trees, and ends up in early Third Age, in T.A. 29. This fiction is about all events which happened in Middle Earth from the Years of Trees to the wedding of Vaeril during the Third Age.
